Farms on one side, ocean on the other, and Route 88 running down the middle of Westport like a zipper. We work the dairy and vineyard country at the Head of Westport, the old village at Westport Point, and the beach houses along the shore, and each of those is a different conversation about where the box goes.

Working agricultural land is still the backbone: hayfields, dairy, vineyards and stone walls between the East and West Branches of the Westport River. The housing runs from 1700s farmhouses through mid-century ranches to serious modern builds near the water. Central Village and Westport Point are historic and compact, while the Horseneck and Acoaxet ends are seasonal, sandy and exposed to every storm that comes up the bay. Barns, equipment buildings and old farm structures are a constant source of demolition and cleanout work.
Agricultural buildings coming down account for a lot of our Westport tonnage: weathered board, metal roofing, old fencing and whatever was stored inside. Along the shore it is storm repair and seasonal renovation, with decks, shingles and soaked interiors after a nor'easter. Historic houses in the villages give up plaster and lath by the ton. Vineyard and farm operations clear out posts, wire and pallets, usually on a schedule that works around the growing season.

We run Route 6 west through Dartmouth and pick up Route 88 south, which carries a loaded truck cleanly to whichever exit fits the job. Central Village and the Point come off 88 onto Main Road; the Head of Westport is reached from Route 6 directly. Beach and Acoaxet deliveries take the shore roads, and in July we schedule those early before Horseneck traffic builds.

Often yes, if the ground is firm and we can reach it. A packed farmyard or a stone-based track is fine. Soft turf, a wet field or a lane with a drainage ditch beside it is a different matter, because a loaded roll-off puts serious weight through small wheels. We would rather walk the spot with you first than pull a truck out of your hayfield in the spring.
Route 88 and the roads to Horseneck get genuinely congested on hot weekends, and there is nowhere for a truck to wait once you are past Central Village. We schedule shore deliveries for early morning through the summer and keep afternoons for the inland farm side of town. Off season it is a straightforward run and timing hardly matters.
Sorting, mostly. Metal roofing, gutters and scrap iron come out first for recycling, since metal is banned from disposal in Massachusetts. Clean wood is handled separately again. What is left, the mixed junk and rubbish, is what actually goes in the container. On a large building we will leave a 30 yard on site for a week or two and swap it rather than chase one load at a time.
Thirty to forty minutes for most addresses, a little longer for Acoaxet at the far south-west corner. That means we generally schedule Westport work in blocks rather than as one-off runs, so a day or two of notice gets you a better time slot. Emergencies after a storm are the exception and we will make a dedicated trip when it is warranted.
