Dumpster Rental Mattapoisett MA

An easy run east and a careful one once you leave the highway. The village grid around Shipyard Park in Mattapoisett was laid out for shipwrights, not for a truck carrying a 30 yard box, so we work out the last two hundred feet before we work out anything else.

Roll-off containers for Mattapoisett homes and businesses

A shipbuilding town that became a residential one. Near the harbor the streets are tight and historic, with captain's houses, short driveways and granite curbing that does not forgive a wandering rear wheel. North of Route 6 the lots open into woods and subdivisions built from the 1960s on. Along Mattapoisett Neck, Brandt Beach and Crescent Beach the picture turns seasonal, with cottages steadily winterized and expanded, all sitting inside flood zones on sandy fill with conservation review attached to almost anything structural.

Winterizing is the repeat job here. A seasonal cottage gets insulation, new windows and a proper foundation, and out comes old framing, fiberglass and 1950s panelling in one messy mix. Village houses generate roof, chimney and interior gut work heavy with plaster. Dock and bulkhead repairs after a hard winter mean treated lumber and broken concrete, which has to stay separate under the state's construction debris bans. Estate clearouts run all year.

Getting to Mattapoisett

I-195 east from Route 140 is the quick line, off at the Mattapoisett exit and down North Street into the village, about twenty minutes clear of summer traffic. When a truck is already south we run Route 6 through Fairhaven instead and reach the same streets. Neck and beach jobs leave Route 6 for Mattapoisett Neck Road, and we scout the lane first if it sounds doubtful.

Dumpster rental in Mattapoisett — FAQs

Where can a container legally sit on a narrow village street?

Our first choice is always your driveway or a private apron, even if it means a smaller box. The streets around Shipyard Park are narrow enough that a container in the travel lane is a genuine problem for fire access, and street placement is something you would need to clear with the town first. Tell us your driveway width and we will tell you what actually fits.

Can I put old dock lumber and broken concrete in the same load?

Better not. Massachusetts bans asphalt, brick and concrete from disposal, and treated wood from a dock is handled differently again, so mixing them creates a load nobody can process cleanly. After a rough winter on the harbor we will often bring one container for the timber and decking and arrange the concrete and stone separately. It usually costs less than sorting a contaminated load later.

What size suits a cottage winterizing project on the Neck?

A 20 yard is the usual answer. Insulation, old windows, panelling and interior framing are bulky but light, so you run out of volume before weight. If a foundation or a chimney is part of the work, the masonry needs its own arrangement. On the tighter Neck driveways we sometimes go to a 15 or 10 yard and swap it, rather than block your only way in for a fortnight.

Do you deliver on Saturdays here during the summer?

We do run Saturdays in season, and in Mattapoisett that is often the sensible day because the village is quieter early. What we avoid is midday on a hot Saturday, when Route 6 and the beach roads are full and there is nowhere to stage a truck. Book a morning slot, and if a boat event or a road closure is on we will move you rather than guess.
