Roll-off containers for Dartmouth homes and businesses

There are really three Dartmouths. North Dartmouth is suburban: ranches and splits off Faunce Corner Road, plus the rental houses and apartment blocks that fill and empty with the university calendar. The middle of town along State Road is retail, with the Dartmouth Mall and the plazas around it turning over tenants and fit-outs. South and west the lots stretch into farmland, old barns and farmhouses on parcels measured in acres. Housing stock here runs from the 1700s to last spring, and what comes out of the houses reflects every decade of it.

Student turnover sets a real season: landlords near the university clear apartments in May and again in late August, and a 20 yard usually covers it. Farm work is a different animal, with barn cleanouts, brush, fencing and drives that need a driver willing to back a long way. State Road brings commercial fit-outs and flat-roof tear-offs. Renovations on the older south-end houses come out heavy with plaster, lath and lead-era trim.

Getting to Dartmouth

For anything along State Road we drop south from the yard to Kempton Street and take Route 6 west into Dartmouth, which is the short way and rarely the slow way. North Dartmouth jobs go Route 140 down to I-195 west and off at Faunce Corner Road, putting a loaded truck near the university in about fifteen minutes. For the south of town we leave Route 6 at Slocum Road or Russells Mills Road.

Dumpster rental in Dartmouth — FAQs

Can you deliver to a student rental near UMass Dartmouth between tenants?

Yes, and it is one of our busiest windows. Late May and the last two weeks of August book out, so give us as much notice as you can. Tell us where the off-street parking is, because the multi-unit houses off Old Westport Road often have a shared lot rather than a driveway. A 20 yard handles a typical unit clearout including furniture, with mattresses kept aside for recycling.

Do I need town approval to put a dumpster in Dartmouth?

On your own driveway or private lot, generally not. If the only place it fits is the street or a town right-of-way, you should check with Dartmouth before we roll, since the requirements and any fee are the town's call and not ours. We will tell you honestly whether a driveway placement is workable so you only chase paperwork when there is no other option.

How far down a farm lane will your truck go?

Further than most, but the ground decides. A packed gravel farm lane with room to swing is no trouble even loaded. Soft spring shoulders, deep ruts and low branches are the limits, and a loaded roll-off is heavy enough to sink where a pickup would not. If the lane looks doubtful we will place at the head of it and let you carry debris the last stretch.

What size do I need for a full roof tear-off on a Dartmouth ranch?

A single-layer tear-off on an average ranch fits comfortably in a 20 yard. Two layers of asphalt, or a bigger footprint like the sprawling splits off Faunce Corner Road, and you want a 30 yard or a mid-job swap. Shingles are dense, so we watch weight rather than volume. Tell us the square footage and how many layers are up there and we will size it right the first time.
