Dumpster Rental Rochester MA

Cranberry bogs, woodlots and long gravel drives: Rochester is the most rural town we serve regularly, and the containers we bring here tend to sit longer and come back heavier. There is usually plenty of room to place a box. The trick is getting the truck to the spot and back out again.

Roll-off containers for Rochester homes and businesses

Agricultural and wooded, with parcels big enough that neighbors are a concept rather than a presence. Bogs and sand pits sit alongside old farmsteads, ranches from the 1970s and newer houses set well back on private drives. Barns, equipment sheds and detached garages are everywhere, and every one of them is storing something. Septic and well are the rule. The soil is glacial till and sand rather than the coastal fill we deal with south of here, which mostly helps, until a spring thaw turns a quarter-mile dirt drive into something no loaded truck should attempt.

Barn and equipment shed demolition is the big one, and it produces a mixed pile of old board, roofing, metal and buried junk that has to be sorted because metal is banned from disposal and worth recycling anyway. Bog and farm operations clear out pumps, pipe and pallets. Farmhouse renovations bring plaster and lead-era trim. Storm work runs to trees and outbuilding damage. Long-term cleanouts are normal here and we plan for a container that stays put.

Getting to Rochester

Most Rochester runs go straight up Main Street through Acushnet, then Braley Road and New Bedford Road into the south of town, which avoids the highway entirely. For the north end and the Route 105 side we take I-195 east and come up 105 through Marion. Once we are off the pavement, everything depends on the drive: we check width, overhead branches and turnaround room before committing a loaded truck.

Dumpster rental in Rochester — FAQs

My drive is a quarter mile of gravel. Can your truck turn around at the top?

That is the question we always ask first. We need roughly 60 feet of straight run to set a box down and a place to turn that is not soft grass. If there is a barnyard or a wide apron at the top we are fine. If it dead ends in a narrow loop we may back the whole way in, which we can do, or place near the road instead. A photo of the drive answers it in seconds.

Are there restrictions on placing a container near a cranberry bog?

There can be. Bogs and their ditches are wetland resources, and both the town and the state take setbacks seriously, so we keep containers well back on firm upland ground rather than on a bog road or a dike. That also protects you, because a loaded roll-off on a soft bog road is a recovery job. If your project already has a conservation filing, we will follow it.

What size do I need to take down an old barn?

Bigger than you think, and usually more than one. A modest barn will fill a 30 yard two or three times over once the roof and siding are down, and old board is heavier than it looks after years of weather. We normally leave a 30 yard on site and swap it as it fills. Pull the metal roofing and any scrap iron aside first, because that goes for recycling.

Is there a weight limit on a farm cleanout load?

Every container has one, and farm loads test it. Dirt, old concrete, wet timber and buried metal add up fast, and trucks have legal axle limits we cannot exceed on a public road. We give you a tonnage allowance with the rental and tell you what typically blows through it. If you are clearing soil or masonry, say so up front and we will bring a smaller box for it.
